Hasta el momento, la empresa estatal UTE es la que ha recorrido este camino en el que hoy aparecen nuevos actores, como la empresa de energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica Ventus que se alista para concretar la primera exportaci\u00f3n de un operador privado. Uno de sus directores, Francis Raquet, se\u00f1al\u00f3 las oportunidades y desaf\u00edos que presenta este nuevo modelo de negocios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la situaci\u00f3n del mercado el\u00e9ctrico?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hoy hay una sobreoferta de energ\u00eda. Las lluvias que se registraron en los dos \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, sumado a la fuerte inversi\u00f3n en energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica tuvo como consecuencia que el precio spot bajara mucho. Este exceso nos permite a nosotros diversificar nuestro modelo de negocios y apuntar hacia la exportaci\u00f3n, y venta en el mercado interno a grandes usuarios.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 lugar ocupa Ventus en el mercado?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hemos participado brindado servicios en la mitad de los megavatios e\u00f3licos instalados en el pa\u00eds. Actualmente operamos 76 MW e\u00f3licos distribuidos en 8 parques construidos en modalidad EPC. Para tener una referencia, estos parques generan energ\u00eda suficiente como para abastecer a la ciudad de Salto o a 30 grandes industrias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1ndo concretar\u00e1n la primera exportaci\u00f3n?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recientemente, el Ministerio de Industria, Energ\u00eda y Miner\u00eda (MIEM) nos autoriz\u00f3 a exportar energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica hacia Argentina. Ahora estamos realizando gestiones y ultimando los detalles para poder concretar la exportaci\u00f3n lo que nos convertir\u00eda en la primera empresa privada uruguaya en vender energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica al exterior.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfHay espacio para vender energ\u00eda en el mercado interno?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ya tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar una venta interna a Fanapel, pero lamentablemente la empresa cerr\u00f3 y no se pudo concretar. De todas formas seguimos trabajando para poder llevar adelante contratos similares con otros privados grandes consumidores, como lo establece la legislaci\u00f3n vigente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Uruguay ha logrado cambiar su matriz energ\u00e9tica. Sin embargo no se han bajado los costos de la tarifas \u00bfCu\u00e1l es su opini\u00f3n al respecto?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las energ\u00edas renovables, como la e\u00f3lica, permitieron bajar los costos fuertemente, sin embargo esta mejora por decisiones pol\u00edticas se destin\u00f3 a rentas generales. En 2016, UTE gan\u00f3 US$ 404 millones de los cuales US$ 225 fueron a rentas generales. So far, UTE, a state-owned company, is the one that has participated in this activity but today new players have emerged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ventus, a renewable energy company and private operator, is ready export. One of its directors, Francis Raquet, pointed out the opportunities and challenges presented by this new business model.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What is the situation of the electricity market? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today there is an oversupply of energy. The rains that occurred in the last two years, coupled with the strong investment in wind energy, lowered the energetic spot price. This excess allows us to diversify our business model, aim to the export, and expand sales to large users in the domestic market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What place does Ventus occupy in the market? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have participated in services that array half of the wind megawatts installed in the country. Currently we operate 76 MW wind power, distributed in 8 parks built in EPC mode. To gain perspective, these parks generate enough energy to supply the city of Salto or 30 major industries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<strong>When will the first export take place? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recently, the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) authorized us to export wind energy to Argentina. Now we are making efforts and finalizing the details to be able to complete the export; this would make us the first Uruguayan private company to sell electric energy abroad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Is there room to sell energy in the domestic market? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We already had the opportunity to make an internal sale to Fanapel, but unfortunately the company closed and could not materialize. In any case, we continue to work in order to carry out similar contracts with other large private consumers, as established by current legislation. Uruguay has managed to change its energy matrix.
