Juan Pablo Saltre, CEO de Ventus, cont\u00f3 en una entrevista para Energ\u00eda Estrat\u00e9gica los planes de expansi\u00f3n en Latinoam\u00e9rica y el Caribe.<\/em><\/p>\n \u00bfC\u00f3mo avanza el plan de expansi\u00f3n de VENTUS? <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong>En Ventus percibimos el cambio como una necesidad natural que demandan nuestros clientes y el contexto. La capacidad de la empresa de poder entender esto y ser flexibles al cambio, ha permitido que desde Ventus hayamos podido avanzar hacia nuevos mercados fuera de Am\u00e9rica Latina, y sumar nuevas \u00e1reas de negocio complementarias. \u00bfEn qu\u00e9 pa\u00edses est\u00e1n construyendo proyectos de renovables? <\/strong><\/p>\n En la actualidad la empresa construye m\u00e1s de 315 MW solares distribuidos en 17 proyectos en Colombia, Chile y Uruguay. En Colombia y Uruguay, por ejemplo, estamos construyendo los proyectos de autoconsumo industrial solar m\u00e1s grande de estos pa\u00edses. Este tipo de desaf\u00edos nos llenan de orgullo y nos empujan a seguir avanzando en Am\u00e9rica Latina.<\/p>\n \u00bfQu\u00e9 rol tom\u00f3 el sector fotovoltaico para la firma? <\/strong><\/p>\n La construcci\u00f3n de parques solares se ha convertido en uno de los pilares de Ventus, as\u00ed como los son la construcci\u00f3n de parques e\u00f3licos o la construcci\u00f3n de infraestructura. \u00bfY el e\u00f3lico?<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/strong>Desde su origen de Ventus es una empresa especializada en la construcci\u00f3n de parques e\u00f3licos. En Uruguay, el pa\u00eds de mayor penetraci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda renovables del continente, hemos trabajado en m\u00e1s del 50% de los MW e\u00f3licos instalado en este pa\u00eds. \u00bfA esto se debe el cambio de nombre de la marca? <\/strong><\/p>\n Siempre hemos sido Ventus. Seguimos siendo Ventus. How is VENTUS expansion plan progressing?<\/strong><\/p>\n At Ventus, we see change as a natural need that is demanded both by our clients and the context. The company’s ability to understand this and to be flexible to change has allowed Ventus to move towards new markets outside of Latin America, and to add new complementary business areas. In which countries are you building renewable projects?<\/strong><\/p>\n Currently, the company is building more than 315 MW of solar power distributed in 17 projects in Colombia, Chile and Uruguay. In Colombia and Uruguay, for example, we are building the largest solar industrial self-consumption projects in these countries. These type of challenges make us very proud and push us to continue growing in Latin America.<\/p>\n What was the role of the solar sector for the firm?<\/strong><\/p>\n The construction of solar farms has become one of the pillars of Ventus, as are the construction of wind farms or the construction of infrastructure. What about wind projects?<\/strong><\/p>\n Since its inception, Ventus is a company specialized in the construction of wind farms. In Uruguay, the country with the highest penetration of renewable energy in the continent, we have worked in more than 50% of the wind MW installed in this country. Is that the reason why the brand changed its name? <\/strong><\/p>\n We have always been Ventus. We are still Ventus. But we are \u00ablosing\u00bb the \u00abenergy\u00bb, and using a new domain to facilitate the positioning of the company in markets outside of renewables, such as civil construction. \nCurrently, Ventus has more than 900 employees in four countries. As a result of the consolidation in the countries where we operate, the company is working to land in the United States, with the purpose of offering EPC services for wind and solar farms.<\/p>\n
\nI believe that in the last years, Ventus has managed to position itself as a benchmark company in the construction of solar projects in countries such as Chile or Colombia.<\/p>\n
\nWe are confident that we can continue working and exporting our know-how to the countries where we operate locally, such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia or even the United States.<\/p>\n

\nInfrastructure construction allows us to provide more comprehensive solutions to our clients in a sector that is less cyclical and that ensures durability over time.
\nCurrently, the company has built more than 10 projects in Uruguay and Argentina, ranging from technology centers, educational centers, sewer bridges or buildings.<\/p>\n
