Ventus<\/a>\u00a0naci\u00f3 hace diez a\u00f1os de la mano de Juan Pablo\u00a0Saltre, graduado de Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda de la UM (FIUM) y Miguel Causa, profesor de la FIUM. Tiempo despu\u00e9s, se sumar\u00eda Francis\u00a0Raquet, otro\u00a0alumni\u00a0UM decidido a crear una empresa l\u00edder en la construcci\u00f3n de\u00a0proyectos\u00a0renovables.<\/p>\nEn el 2019, la firma comenz\u00f3 a abocarse tambi\u00e9n a la construcci\u00f3n de obras de infraestructura civil. \u201cFelizmente hemos tenido muy buen suceso, considerando que en poco m\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o y medio de operaciones, la empresa ha sido adjudicada con nueve\u00a0obras\u201d, dijo Juan Pablo\u00a0Saltre, CEO de\u00a0Ventus.<\/p>\n
\u00a0En la actualidad, la empresa lleva adelante siete\u00a0obras\u00a0de infraestructura civil en simult\u00e1neo, que incluye la construcci\u00f3n de cuatro centros educativos en Cerro Largo y Rocha, el ensanche de puentes en la ciudad de Mercedes y la construcci\u00f3n de alcantarillas para varios tramos del ferrocarril central.<\/p>\n
Un proyecto originado a partir de la FIUM\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\u201cVentus\u00a0es una empresa que se fue gestando mientras egres\u00e1bamos de FIUM. Recuerdo que concurr\u00ed a una feria internacional vinculada a temas de pellets de madera, y all\u00ed entr\u00e9 en contacto, casi\u00a0que,\u00a0sin quererlo, con la energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica. El tema realmente me apasion\u00f3, y decid\u00ed investigar y ampliar mis conocimientos\u201d, record\u00f3 Juan Pablo. Y agreg\u00f3 que \u201ca partir de ello, y cuando el tema comenz\u00f3 a sonar en Uruguay, junto a Miguel Causa, quien hab\u00eda sido profesor en FIUM, trabajamos para presentarnos a una licitaci\u00f3n de UTE para la construcci\u00f3n de un parque e\u00f3lico, en la que fuimos adjudicados. A partir de esta primera experiencia, nacer\u00eda\u00a0Ventus\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nace\u00a0Ventus\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nEn agosto de 2010 se fund\u00f3 oficialmente la empresa. En sus or\u00edgenes,\u00a0Ventus\u00a0se dedicaba a la ingenier\u00eda y construcci\u00f3n de parques e\u00f3licos. En este marco, la empresa apost\u00f3 fuertemente a trabajar junto a industrias para la inclusi\u00f3n de energ\u00eda renovable. Para el desarrollo de este modelo de negocio, fue clave para Juan Pablo que Francis\u00a0Raquet, compa\u00f1ero suyo de facultad, se asociara desde el inicio de las operaciones.<\/p>\n
\u201cCreo que la notoriedad del buen trabajo en esta primera instancia fue fundamental para consolidar los primeros cimientos de\u00a0Ventus\u00a0en la industria renovable. En aquel entonces, Uruguay era un pa\u00eds \u00e1vido por incluir (tecnolog\u00edas) renovables a su sistema el\u00e9ctrico, y la irrupci\u00f3n de una empresa joven como\u00a0Ventus\u00a0era toda una novedad\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Juan Pablo.<\/p>\n
Diez a\u00f1os de crecimiento\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nEl proceso de crecimiento de\u00a0Ventus\u00a0ha sido r\u00e1pido y vertiginoso. A medida que la marca ingres\u00f3 en nuevos mercados, ha tenido que adaptarse a distintos marcos y necesidades para poder brindar sus servicios. \u201cDe ese modo, r\u00e1pidamente nos volcamos tambi\u00e9n hacia la tecnolog\u00eda solar, para poder ser m\u00e1s integrales en la propuesta de valor para nuestros clientes\u201d, explic\u00f3 Juan Pablo.<\/p>\n
En la actualidad,\u00a0Ventus\u00a0cuenta con m\u00e1s de\u00a0trescientos colaboradores en las distintas geograf\u00edas donde opera (Uruguay, Argentina,\u00a0Colombia\u00a0y Chile). A lo largo de estos diez a\u00f1os, la empresa ha construido m\u00e1s de cuarenta proyectos e\u00f3licos y solares, sumando experiencia en la construcci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 1500 MW.<\/p>\n
El proceso de expansi\u00f3n internacional\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\nA partir del 2015, la empresa comenz\u00f3 su proceso de internacionalizaci\u00f3n en Argentina, donde la empresa ha brindado servicios de gerenciamiento e ingenier\u00eda\u00a0a m\u00e1s del 60% de los\u00a0proyectos e\u00f3licos adjudicados en las rondas\u00a0RenovAr\u00a0y MATER promovidas por el gobierno argentino.<\/p>\n
Desde el 2017, la empresa est\u00e1 presente en Colombia, donde actualmente construye\u00a0cinco plantas solares con m\u00e1s de 60\u00a0MWp\u00a0de potencia, energ\u00eda suficiente como para abastecer a unas 30.000 familias en Colombia. Y \u201crecientemente hemos sido adjudicados con la construcci\u00f3n de tres plantas solares en Chile, por un total de 16 MW de potencia, donde tenemos oficinas desde el a\u00f1o pasado\u201d, puntualiz\u00f3 el empresario.<\/p>\n
Las claves del \u00e9xito: el an\u00e1lisis constante\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\u201cCreo que una de las herramientas m\u00e1s importantes para haber logrado progresar ha sido la capacidad de an\u00e1lisis de los mercados y necesidades de clientes, lo cual nos ha permitido enfocar nuestra operativa para atender lo que los mercados y los clientes buscan\u201d, explic\u00f3 Juan Pablo. Y agreg\u00f3 que \u201cla flexibilidad para adaptarnos a diferentes realidades y entornos, y el esfuerzo permanente por superar expectativas, ha sido una de las claves para convertir este proyecto originado a partir de FIUM, en una empresa de referencia en Am\u00e9rica Latina\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ventus was created ten years ago by Juan Pablo Saltre, a graduate of the Faculty of Engineering of the UM (FIUM) and Miguel Causa, a professor at the FIUM. Some years later, Francis Raquet, another UM alumni would joined this challenge.<\/p>\n
In 2019, the firm also began to work on the construction of civil infrastructure. \u00abFortunately we have had a very good success, considering that in just over a year and a half of operations, the company has been awarded with nine projects\u00bb said Juan Pablo Saltre, Ventus CEO.<\/p>\n
Currently, the company carries out seven civil infrastructure works simultaneously, which includes the construction of four educational centers in Cerro Largo and Rocha, the widening of a bridge in the city of Mercedes and the construction of culverts of several sections of the central railway.<\/p>\n

A project originated at the FIUM<\/strong><\/p>\n\u201cVentus is a company that grew up while we graduated from FIUM. I remember that I attended an international event related to wood pellets, and there I came into contact with wind energy. I was really passionate about this new energy source, and I decided to research and expand my knowledge\u201d recalled Juan Pablo. And he added that \u201cfrom this first contact onwards and when the topic began to gain relevance in Uruguay, together with Miguel Causa, who had been a professor at FIUM, we worked to participate of a tender promoted by UTE, for the construction of a wind farm, in which we were awarded. From this first experience Ventus would be born\u201d.<\/p>\n
Ventus is born<\/strong><\/p>\nIn August 2010 the company was officially founded. In its origins, Ventus was dedicated to the engineering and construction of wind farms. In this framework, the company strongly opted to work together with industries for the inclusion of renewable energy. For the development of this business model, it was key for Juan Pablo that Francis Raquet, his colleague from the faculty, associated since the beginning of Ventus.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe that the notoriety of the good work in this first instance was key to consolidate the first foundations of Ventus in the renewable industry. At that time, Uruguay was a country eager to include renewable (technologies) to its electricity system, and the creation of a young company like Ventus was a novelty\u201d, said Juan Pablo.<\/p>\n
Ten years of growth<\/strong><\/p>\nVentus’ growth process has been fast and constant. As the company entered new markets, it has had to adapt to different frameworks and needs in order to provide its services. \u00abIn this way, we quickly turned to solar technology as well, in order to widen the options suggested to our clients\u00bb explained Juan Pablo.<\/p>\n
Currently, Ventus has more than three hundred collaborators in different geographies where it operates (Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia and Chile). Throughout these ten years, the company has built more than forty wind and solar projects, adding experience in the construction of more than 1500 MW.<\/p>\n

The process of international expansion<\/strong><\/p>\nAs of 2015, the company began its internationalization process in Argentina, where the company has provided management and engineering services to more than 60% of the wind projects awarded in the RenovAr and MATER tenders promoted by the Argentine government.<\/p>\n
Since 2017, the company opened its offices in Colombia, where it is currently building five solar farms for more than 60 MWp of power, enough energy to supply some 30,000 families in Colombia. On top of it \u201cwe have recently been awarded with the construction of three solar plants in Chile, for a total of 16 MW of power, where we have offices since last year,\u00bb said the businessman.<\/p>\n
The keys to success: constant analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\u00abI think that one of the most important tools to have achieve this progress has been the ability to analyze markets and customer needs, which has allowed us to focus our operations to meet what markets and customers are looking for,\u00bb explained Juan Pablo. And he added that \u00abthe flexibility to adapt to different realities and environments, and the permanent effort to exceed expectations, has been one of the keys to converting this project originated from FIUM, into a leading company in Latin America.<\/p>\n
