En el a\u00f1o 2017, Ventus firm\u00f3 un acuerdo con la Compa\u00f1\u00eda Administradora del Mercado Mayorista El\u00e9ctrico (CAMMESA) para la venta de energ\u00eda de Uruguay a Argentina.\u00a0 Este acuerdo represent\u00f3 un hito sin precedentes para la historia del mercado el\u00e9ctrico uruguayo.<\/p>\n
El acuerdo de venta se implement\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de \u201cpaquetes\u201d de energ\u00eda semanales, producidos por los 73 MW de potencia instalados y operados por Ventus, distribuidos en 8 parques e\u00f3licos.<\/p>\n
El esp\u00edritu del acuerdo busc\u00f3 optimizar la rentabilidad de los parques operados por Ventus a trav\u00e9s de una alternativa a la venta de la energ\u00eda al mercado interno. Por ello, si el precio de la energ\u00eda del mercado spot en Uruguay ten\u00eda un valor mayor al ofrecido inicialmente por CAMMESA, la energ\u00eda se volcaba en el mercado local. En caso contrario, la energ\u00eda era exportada.<\/p>\n
A partir de entonces, desde Ventus buscamos elaborar un sistema que permitiera optar de forma autom\u00e1tica por la venta interna o la exportaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda mejorando el flujo de informaci\u00f3n entre las partes en tiempo real para optimizar la toma de decisiones de trading. As\u00ed fue como comenzamos a trabajar en la incipiente tecnolog\u00eda Blockchain.<\/p>\n
Blockchain es un mecanismo digital capaz no solo de almacenar datos e informaci\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n transferirlos, de manera segura, barata, inmutable y r\u00e1pida, sin centralizaci\u00f3n. En la actualidad, diversas empresas a nivel mundial registran sus transacciones utilizando Blockchain. Este sistema se implementa actualmente en diversas industrias a nivel mundial y es aplicable a diferentes estructuras, m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su grado de madurez.<\/p>\n
Desde Ventus trabajamos en el marco de una alianza estrat\u00e9gica con la firma PowerLedgers, empresa de soluciones de negocios con tecnolog\u00eda Blockchain, para la creaci\u00f3n de un modelo de automatizaci\u00f3n que predicci\u00f3n de generaci\u00f3n y estimaci\u00f3n del valor de la energ\u00eda, y as\u00ed tomar decisiones por s\u00ed solo sobre el destino de la venta utilizando tecnolog\u00eda Blockchain.<\/p>\n
El \u00e9xito de la implementaci\u00f3n se tradujo en la creaci\u00f3n de un software que permiti\u00f3 que Ventus exportara 153.960 MWh de energ\u00eda renovable en el a\u00f1o 2018, eliminando el margen de error humano, pudiendo tomar decisiones en tiempo real. La automatizaci\u00f3n y el registro de Blockchain permiti\u00f3 a Ventus ahorrar 30% de sus costos operativos relativos a la comercializaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n
A partir de la creaci\u00f3n e implementaci\u00f3n exitosa de esta tecnolog\u00eda, la empresa ha comenzado a ofrecer soluciones para empresas, que buscan automatizar procesos que se realizan de forma manual para la predicci\u00f3n en la compra y venta de diversos commodities. La aplicaci\u00f3n creada junto a Power Ledgers tiene aplicabilidad para la optimizaci\u00f3n del trading de energ\u00eda, m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del mercado en el que se opere.<\/p>\n
Esta nueva herramienta, basada en la tecnolog\u00eda Blockchain, buscar aumentar la eficiencia y la precisi\u00f3n en la toma de decisiones en el mundo empresarial, optimizando decisiones de forma trazable.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Ventus signed an agreement with the Wholesale Electricity Market Management Company (CAMMESA) for the trading of energy from Uruguay to Argentina. This agreement represented an unprecedented milestone for the history of the Uruguayan electricity market.<\/p>\n
The sales agreement was implemented through weekly \u201cpackages\u201d of energy, produced by the 73 MW of power installed and operated by Ventus, distributed in 8 wind farms.<\/p>\n
The spirit of the agreement sought to optimize the profitability of the wind farms operated by Ventus through an alternative to the sale of energy to the domestic market. Therefore, if the energy price of the spot market in Uruguay had a higher value than initially offered by CAMMESA, the energy was turned over in the local market. Otherwise, the energy was exported.<\/p>\n
Since then, from Ventus we seek to develop a system that allows us to automatically decide between internal sales or energy exports, improving the flow of information between the parties in real time to optimize trading decision making. That’s how we started working on the emerging Blockchain technology.<\/p>\n
Blockchain is a digital mechanism capable of not only storing data and information, but also transferring them, in a secure, cheap, immutable and fast way, without centralization. Currently, several companies worldwide register their transactions using Blockchain. This system is currently implemented in various industries worldwide and is applicable to different structures.<\/p>\n
From Ventus we work within the framework of a strategic alliance with the firm PowerLedgers, a business solutions company with Blockchain technology, for the creation of an automation model that predicts generation and estimation of energy value, and thus make decisions on its own about the destination of the sale using Blockchain technology.<\/p>\n
The success of the implementation resulted in the creation of software that allowed Ventus to export 153,960 MWh of renewable energy in 2018, eliminating the margin of human error, making decisions in real time. Blockchain automation and registration allowed Ventus to save 30% of its operating costs related energy trading.<\/p>\n
Since the creation and successful implementation of this technology, the company has begun to offer solutions for companies, which seek to automate processes that are performed manually for the prediction in the purchase and sale of various commodities. The application created with Power Ledgers has applicability for energy trading optimization, beyond the market in which it operates.<\/p>\n
This new tool, based on Blockchain technology, seeks to increase efficiency and precision in decision making in the business world, optimizing decisions in a traceable way.<\/p>\n
