Ventus, an engineering company dedicated to providing renewable energy construction, operation and commercialization services, today focuses on the installation of solar farmas to promote photovoltaic energy, in order to provide industrial consumers to possibility of saving energy and money.<\/p>\n
Ventus offers to clients different options of solar farms that may be installed in no longer than four or five months, depending on the supplies and that generate savings for industrial consumers.<\/p>\n
\u00abMore and more projects of this type are being installed in Uruguay. But, why now and not five years ago as it happened with wind energy? Buecause photovoltaic technology has\u00a0 lowered it costs in the last couple of years, and has become much more competitive \u00ab, explained to InfoNegocios Juan Pablo Saltre, CEO of Ventus.<\/p>\n
Solar energy is 40 or 50% cheaper than eight years ago, depending on the installation size. \u00abThis type of project allows small, medium and large industries to reduce considerably the network’s energy consumption\u00bb said Luis Olivera, Ventus communications manager.<\/p>\n
\u00abIn the last couple of years, the price of panels has decreased greatly. This opens the range to much larger potential industries. This projects has a life cycle of 30 years and can be paid in a few years, \u00abadded Olivera.<\/p>\n
The photovoltaic energy is a type of renewable energy and allows consumers to access fixed cost for their energy for 30 years and will not have uncertainty regarding the amount to be paid. \u00abInstalling a solar farms of 20-kilowatt, which is a very small one, the prize per installed kilowatt is of 1,500 or 2,000, although this is very variable information, \u00absaid Saltre.<\/p>\n
\u00abIn Ventus we have participated in more than 40 renewable projects for industries in Uruguay, not only photovoltaic, but also for wind farms. The price will depend on the size of the farm to be installed and whether it will be placed on a roof or the floor, if the roof needs to be upgraded or reinforced\u00bbconcluded Saltre.<\/p>\n
